My Story
I would like to share with you how my experience
with Usana
Health Sciences led me to become a holistic health
care practitioner.
I have always
been interested in good quality food, I lived in the country
and grew my own food organically in my market garden/greenhouse
operation. Each
week I made yogurt, bread, etc. I raised goats
and used their milk in my food preparation. I nursed my
babies for an extended period of time and took pride in doing
all I could to ensure I was feeding my family the very best food
possible.
I have always been very active and participated
in aerobics, weight-bearing exercise, yoga and I love to jog.
I
have a strong sense of spirituality and have practiced meditation
for years.
In spite
of all my efforts in nutrition, my health was declining and around
five years ago I was in very bad way. I suffered from constant
headaches and each morning I would evaluate the intensity of
the headache and decide what level of painkiller was required
to take to manage the pain for that day. I had plantar fasciitis
and wore orthotics, I had a hip brace for my sacroiliac pain,
I had a custom thumb splint made, to allow me to hold and use
a pen to write. My
back was in a constant state of spasm, and it was thought that
I had Fibromyalgia.
I suffered
from extreme Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and was in constant digestive
distress. I received allergy shots for my allergies, and I
became addicted to nasal spray.
Needless to say I was spending
a lot of time and money visiting a variety of health care practitioners;
my family doctor, a physiotherapist, a naturopath, an acupuncturist,
a psychologist, a massage therapist, and a chiropractor.
A
friend of mine recommended that I try the Usana Essentials,
a pharmaceutical grade multi vitamin/mineral supplement. I
resisted initially, as I was eating a great diet--organic, natural,
good quality food. When I gave
in and began the Essentials I was amazed at
the improvement I experienced! The first thing that happened
was that my headaches disappeared, next the plantar fasciitis,
then the allergies, and wonderfully my body pain was gone!
This
fabulous response to the Usana products made
me sit up and pay attention to what difference optimal nutrition
can make! What I found amazing
was that there are many other people with stories similar
to mine!
I went on
to learn more about the importance of a pharmaceutical grade,
broad spectrum, easily absorbed, bioavailable, multi-vitamin.
My curiosity led me to study nutrition at the Canadian School
of Natural Nutrition and to earn the designation of Registered
Holistic Nutritionist and to become a member of the International
Organization of Nutritional Consultants. I now recognize
that each individual is biochemically unique, and that'one man's
food may be another man's poison', but a good multi-vitamin is
a great basic place to start to build health, wellness and longevity!
