My Story

I would like to share with you how my experience with pharmaceutical grade vitamin supplements  led me to become a Holistic Health Care Practitioner.

I have always been aware of the importance of eating good quality food,  I lived in the country and grew my own food organically in my market garden/greenhouse operation.  Each week I  made my family yogurt, bread, soups, etc..  I  raised goats and used their milk in my food preparation.  I nursed my babies for an extended period of time and took pride in doing all I could to ensure I was feeding my family the very best quality food possible.

I have always been very active and participated in aerobics, weight-bearing exercise, yoga, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and I love to jog.

I have a strong sense of spirituality and have practiced meditation for years.

However, In spite of all my efforts in nutrition, my health was declining and around ten years ago I found myself to be in a very bad way.  I suffered from constant headaches and each morning I would evaluate the intensity of the headache and decide what level of painkiller was required to take to manage the pain for that day. I had plantar fasciitis and wore orthotics, I had a hip brace for my sacroiliac pain, I had a custom thumb splint made, to allow me to hold and use a pen to write.  My back was in a constant state of spasm, and it was thought that I had Fibromyalgia.  I suffered from extreme Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and was in digestive distress on a daily basis. I  received allergy shots for my allergies, and  I became addicted to decongestant nasal spray.

Needless to say I was spending a lot of time visiting a variety of health care practitioners including my family doctor, a physiotherapist, a naturopath, an acupuncturist, a massage therapist, an osteopath, and a chiropractor.  Yet the pain persisted and I became a chronic pain sufferer.

A friend of mine recommended that I try her pharmaceutical grade multi vitamin/mineral supplements.  I resisted initially, as I believed I was receiving adequate nutrition through eating a great diet of organic, natural, good quality food.  However, I did give in and began the supplements and I was amazed at the improvement I experienced!  The first thing that happened was that my headaches disappeared, next the plantar fasciitis, then the allergies, and wonderfully my body pain was gone!

This amazing and wonderful response to the Usana Health Sciences supplements made me sit up and pay attention to what a difference optimal nutrition through supplementation can make!

I went on to learn more about the importance of a pharmaceutical grade, broad spectrum, easily absorbed, bioavailable, multi-vitamin, as well as other nutriceuticals.  My interest in the subject led me to study nutrition at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, where I graduated with Distinguished Merit at the top of my class, and earned the designation of Registered Holistic Nutritionist and  become a member of the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants, and the Professional Alliance of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists, and received the title of Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner, and Naturotherapist.  I have continued my studies in the areas of Biotherapeutic Drainage, Homeopathy and Auricular Medicine, and specialize in Chronic pain and Digestive Disorders.

With all this professional training and experience in a private holistic practice, I appreciate that each individual is biochemically unique, and that one man's food may be another man's poison, but something as simple as supplementing a good diet with a pharmaceutical grade multi-vitamin is a fabulous place to start to build health, wellness and longevity!

Yours in good health,
Nancy
